My von Neumann talk has been given several times in several versions. The best and perhaps final mutation has split the talk in three: one part on the history of scientific computing, the second about the 1947 paper by von Neuman and Goldstine, and the third on the history of Gaussian elimination. For the latest versions of these, see November 7 and 8, 2007 and October 10, 2008.
